The BCH Office of Faculty Development, with the joint sponsorship of the Basic/Translational Research Executive Committee (BTREC) and the Clinical/Translational Research Executive Committee (CTREC), announces the BCH 2026 Faculty Development Fellowships for Early Career Faculty. There are 13 awards available in total.
Please do not delay starting your application in Submittable, you need to save a draft application to send your letter requests via Submittable to your Department/Division/Program Chair and Research Mentor. We strongly recommend doing so by Friday, February 20th.

PDA/OPA Course/Workshop Travel Award
The PDA/OPA Course/Workshop Travel Award supports Boston Children’s Hospital-affiliated postdoctoral research and clinical fellows in advancing their professional development by providing financial assistance for attending academic courses or workshops within the U.S. Recipients will be reimbursed up to $1,000 for eligible travel and attendance expenses for events scheduled to start between April 15th, 2026, and October 14th, 2026 (inclusive).
Eligibility:
- Open to Boston Children’s Hospital-affiliated postdoctoral research and clinical fellows. Instructors and residents are not eligible to apply.
- Previous award recipients are not eligible for future rounds to ensure fair distribution.
- This award only covers expenses for courses/classes within the U.S. that start within the specified timeframe (April 15th, 2026 - October 14th, 2026). It may be used for registration, travel, per diems, and lodging only.
- All expenses must comply with the Boston Children's Hospital travel policy: http://web2.tch.harvard.edu/travel/

PDA/OPA Conference Travel Award
The PDA/OPA Travel Award supports Boston Children’s Hospital-affiliated postdoctoral research and clinical fellows in advancing their professional development by providing financial assistance for attending academic conferences, classes, or courses within the U.S. Recipients will be reimbursed up to $1,000 for eligible travel and attendance expenses for events scheduled to start between April 15th, 2026 and October 14th, 2026.
Eligibility:
- Open to Boston Children’s Hospital-affiliated postdoctoral research and clinical fellows. Instructors and residents are not eligible to apply.

- Applicants do not need an accepted abstract to apply for the travel award but must have an abstract accepted to receive the funds for the award.
- The recipient’s lab, PI, or other fellowship must cover any costs exceeding the award amount. Personal payment 'out-of-pocket' of additional expenses is not allowed. During the application, you will be asked to specify your projected budget. Failure to specify the funding source for expenses beyond this award, or stating that you will cover them yourself 'out-of-pocket', will result in disqualification.
